Guest Review in the San Francisco Chronicle

March 12th, 2007 | Category: About "At the Bay's Edge", Blog

One of our guests wrote into the San Francisco Chronicle about her stay “At the Bay’s Edge”….I’m delighted that she shared her experiences and that her letter was published this past weekend!

Here’s an excerpt:

Life on the edge in Bodega Bay

My family and I found a wonderful winter getaway close to home but far enough away to feel like we had entered another world. At the Bay’s Edge literally sits on the water at the edge of scenic Bodega Bay. We enjoyed feeding the seagulls, listening to the seals and watching the pelicans dive for their dinner. It was magnificent…..

Olive Oil Tours!

February 23rd, 2007 | Category: Blog

McEvoy Ranch in Petaluma is a fun addition to traditional wine tasting tours! McEvoy Ranch hosts over 18,000 trees covering more than 80 acres and they offer tours of both their orchards and gardens.

Originally inspired by the olive oils found in the Italian countryside, McEvoy Ranch’s extra virgin olive oil is a must see / taste for those who love olive oil!

Check out their web site for tour information…they are only 30 minutes from “At the Bay’s Edge”!

Wine Tasting in Bodega Bay

February 9th, 2007 | Category: Blog

Gourmet au Bay offers a beautiful deck setting to enjoy your wine tasting. They carry over 200 award winning California wines….and if they don’t have what you’re looking for they’ll find it for you! They also have an impressive gift shop.

Gourmet au Bay is just minutes from “At the Bay’s Edge”. Be sure and ask about their “wine surfing”!

Rocker Oysterfellers!

January 27th, 2007 | Category: Blog

With a name like that, I had to try this new restaurant in Valley Ford…just 15 minutes from “At the Bay’s Edge”. What a delightful surprise….a robust menu with local organic fare, fresh seafood, and an impressive wine list that was almost 100% from Sonoma County. In fact, they give a discount on corkage fees if you bring in your own Sonoma County wine!

I brought back plenty of menus from this new find! I will definitely go back!

Chowder Day February 3rd

January 15th, 2007 | Category: Blog

The Sonoma Coast Visitors Center will host, ‘Chowder Day’ on Saturday, Feb. 3rd. Last year hundreds of people came to taste and vote for their favorite clam chowders and receive discount coupons to local businesses.

To participate, come to the Visitors Center at 850 Coast Highway One, located next to the Tides 76 gas station, between 11am to 3pm to pick up your guide/map to the Bodega Bay restaurants serving the clam chowder.

See if you can detect the secret ingredients each restaurant uses to make their chowder unique. You get to be the judge! When you return the map/guide with your comments to the Visitors Center, you’ll receive a packet of discount coupons to be used at the participating restaurants.

Enjoy the wood stoves!

January 9th, 2007 | Category: About "At the Bay's Edge", Blog

One of our guests just told me they spent most of the weekend cuddled up on the couch in front of the wood burning stove…just reading and watching the wildlife outside. Sounds like a perfect weekend!

December 12th, 2006 | Category: Blog

The 15th Annual Russian River Winter Wineland is coming up January 13-14th….it’s quite an event. Over 105 wineries participate over these two days along the Russian River Wine Road. This is a great opportunity to visit, meet winemakers and taste limited production wines at wineries not generally open to the public. Enjoy!
