It is time, once again, for the fifth annual Oysterpalooza festival atRocker Oysterfeller’s in Valley Ford taking place this coming Sunday,
May 27th! This year is more exciting than ever with six amazing bands
lined up from start to finish on two stages. Hear bluegrass,
americana, roots, rock, jazz and alternative music from local bands
Tiny Television, Mr. December and Crazy Famous along with San
Francisco / Berkeley guests Redwing Bluegrass Band, Brass Menazeri and
Jazz Mafia.

Aside from the great music, we will be serving up some festival
favorites from our outdoor kitchen. Feast on Fresh Popcorn, Smoked
Brisket Sliders, Oyster & Shrimp PoBoys, Njama-Njama Greens with Black
Beans and Plantains, Mesquite Grilled Corn on the Cob, Deviled Eggs
and Spicy Boiled Delta Crayfish. Oh yeah, and we’ll have thousands of
fresh oysters from Tomales Bay to enjoy raw on the half shell or hot
off the grill with various sauces.

Quench your thirst with cold draught beers from Lagunitas, great local
wines, housemade Hurricanes, fresh squeezed Margaritas and Hibiscus
Coolers. A full bar will also be available. If you plan on drinking,
we ask that you coordinate a designated driver.

Doors open at 12:00 pm with music beginning at 1:30 pm. Be sure to
get here early so you don’t miss the fantastic opening bands. Please

Bring sunscreen, blankets and a fun-loving attitude to this
one-of-a-kind festival!

Tickets are $15.00 per person for entry and are available at the door
or for pre-sale HERE. Children 10 and under are free.

Castles and Kites Festival for May 5th

This annual Castles & Kites celebration in Bodega Bay has everything it takes to be a crowd pleaser; the festivities take place at Doran Regional Park. It’s not for the faint of heart; however, castle building can be a serious undertaking. But don’t worry park representatives are on hand to give you the tools and molds to make your castle the best it can be. Also on hand are expert sand castle artists that make huge sand castles. Things you need to know? If you don’t have an annual park pass, you’ll need to by a $6 day use permit, which includes parking. Dogs must be on a leash. To become a parks member just go to the Sonoma County Parks website.

39th Annual Fisherman’s Festival on April 28 & 29, 2012

The Festival is packed with events for people of all ages – craft booths, live music, delicious food, entertainment and a lot more. A favorite attraction is the wine tasting booth featuring more than 25 Sonoma County wines. Food booths have something for every palate from barbequed oysters, local fish ‘n chips, to veggie burgers, clam chowder and sandwiches. Don’t forget to stop by the “Sugar Shack” for snacks, popcorn, hot pretzels and more. Live music and entertainers perform on the main stage all day Saturday and Sunday. Artisans and vendors from all over California and beyond offer a wide selection of arts and crafts. Sunday morning April 29^th, 2012 will feature the Blessing of the Fishing Fleet, when decorated boats parade out of the harbor to receive a blessing from local clergy. This year we celebrate the 200th anniversary of Russia coming to Bodega Bay to build Ft. Ross.Visit. Lady Washington sails into Bodega Bay!!

When a 20th-century replica of the Lady Washington sails into Bodega Bay on Tuesday April 3^rd, the tall ship may look vaguely familiar. After docking at Spud Point Marina with her companion tall ship, the Hawaiian Chieftain, the Lady Washington will be turned into a living classroom for maritime history buffs as part of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of Fort Ross.

The tours will be offered on Tuesday April 3^rd through Sunday April 6^th, with a $3 donation and no reservations necessary, $40-$60 for Battle Sail; $35 for Adventure Sail. Artisan Cheese Festival in Sonoma in March

Starting with the first festival in March 2007, this festival is the first-ever weekend-long celebration and exploration of handcrafted cheeses, foods, wines and beers from California and beyond. The educational seminars and tastings are led by cheese experts, cheesemakers, chefs and fromagiers from across the country, and virtually every session involves tastings and/or pairings of artisan cheeses. The festival features a wide variety of artisan cheeses from California and beyond, together with their artisan bread, food, wine and beer complements.
